Jaki Humphreys
Administration
There was no stopping Jaki from living a life on the water. Since she was in her early teens, she pestered her father to take her fishing. He bought a tinny for their shack on the Riverland, much a result of Jaki’s persistence.
If she wasn’t on the tinny catching carp and callop, she was on the local jetty targeting the bread-and-butter species, we all love. For her the fishing lifestyle was in her blood and wasn’t going to be tamed.
Nowadays Jaki has become part of the Coorong’s scenery with bream and mulloway being her staples. She a long-term member and advocate for the Young Husband Fishing Club and thrives in building up newcomers to the sport.
With an extensive background in administration and financial services she has become an integral part of the RecFish team. Without whom, our day to day would likely crumble.
Jaki has been a key influence on the development and delivery of our Reeling-In Junior Anglers program which equips young people with safe and professional fishing education. She continues this work in her personal life, raising her own generation of fishers that we may someday see carry on her positive influence on recreational fishing in SA.
