The Artificial Reef Project is helping restore marine habitat and support fish populations at Wirrina Cove and Nepean Bay. Led by RecFish SA, the project involved deploying purpose-built reef modules designed to provide shelter, feeding areas and breeding habitat for a range of marine species.

Over time, the reefs are expected to attract fish, support the growth of marine plants and invertebrates, and increase biodiversity in the region. The project also plays an important role in helping local ecosystems recover from the impacts of the harmful algal bloom, creating healthier and more resilient marine environments for the future.
