Let’s Go Fishing is South Australia’s biggest tagged fish competition, giving anglers the chance to catch fish worth up to $10,000. Throughout the season, RecFish SA releases tagged freshwater and saltwater species across multiple regions, with new prize fish added regularly to increase participants’ chances of winning. Each competition round focuses on specific target species and locations, supported by free fishing forums where experts share tips and local knowledge. In addition to major cash prizes of $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500, anglers can also win instant cash tags and monthly Shimano prize packs. Entry is free, making it an exciting opportunity for fishers of all skill levels to get involved.
Round 5 Recap
Round 5 of the Let’s Go Fishing Competition was a special bonus round, giving anglers another chance to chase tagged fish and win some fantastic prizes across South Australia.
This round featured several popular species and locations, including flathead and Australian salmon around Elliston, Australian salmon throughout Adelaide, and Murray cod and silver perch at Happy Valley Reservoir. These options gave both freshwater and saltwater anglers the opportunity to get involved and enjoy time on the water.
The major moment of Round 5 came when Darren Marks caught a tagged Australian salmon at Christies Beach. Darren’s catch secured the massive $10,000 bonus-round prize, making it an unforgettable fishing trip and another exciting result for the competition.
The Shimano monthly prize pack for June was also awarded to Thomas Fuller, adding another winner to the growing list of anglers rewarded throughout the competition.
